TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) again seized 200 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, ecstasy and "happy five" drugs smuggled from Malaysia, in Bekasi district, West Java, on Friday (May 10) night.

"On Friday at around 7 p.m. local time, the agency managed to arrest two suspects -  Zulham and Fajar, with 200 kilograms of evidence of drugs," said the agency's Eradication Deputy Inspector General Arman Depari in a short message received here on Sunday.

The arrest was made after the agency received information that narcotics transactions would occur in Bekasi. An investigation suspected a truck coming from Pekanbaru, Riau.

Then the BNN team followed the truck from around the toll road exit of Bintara Bekasi to Tambun area, after the truck unloaded the cargo stored in a house which is a grocery store belonging to Fajar, one of the suspects.

"Then the team carried out raids and checks. The search found 100 kilograms of methamphetamine drugs stored in the cupboard," Arman said.

"On Saturday at around 1 a.m., the BNN team conducted a search at Zulham's rented house and again found 97 bags containing crystal methamphetamine," Arman said.

The total evidence of confiscated drugs was 200 kilograms consisting of methamphetamine, ecstasy and "happy five". While other items of evidence seized were one unit of truck, motorcycle and communication equipment.

Arman said that currently the case is being developed to pursue other suspects involved in the network.

"It is suspected that the drugs were smuggled from Malaysia by sea into Indonesia and brought from Pekanbaru to Jakarta and Bekasi by truck," he said.
